As Sorianna enters, Ladybird's fingers grasp the brass knob of the opposite door. She utters a quick prayer, hoping the door won't be locked. Her hands are cold and sweaty and nearly slide off the polished metal, but she uses all her strength to jerk the door open. There is complete darkness on the other side. Ladybird releases her grip on Elbow's arm. Her pleading eyes find his for a moment before she jumps through the doorway and is gone.

"The crow doth sing as sweetly as the lark,
When neither is attended..."
