*Elbow staggers out into the daylight and throws his hand up to block the light. He looks like he's been dragged through the gutter, covered in blood and dirt, his breaths deep and hoarse, his eyes puffy.*

*For a minute, his eyes dart from side to side and he jumps at the slightest sound. But soon, he realizes there are no enemies in sight, and a calmness settles over him. He attaches a thin leather cord to his spear and slings it over his shoulder. He is looking around the battlefield, reliving the attack on the cave when he sees Chisel punch Seager in the nose. Elbow bursts out laughing.*

*Elbow follows Lemac and her guard back to the beach. He throws himself down in the sand, leans back on his arms, and soaks in the warmth of the sun, and the sounds of the ocean. When he finds a moment alone with Lemac, he speaks quietly to her.*

Lemac, It was blissful with you that night we had dinner together on Dawn's Passage. I went back to my bunk before morning because I thought I should not distract myself or the others from our mission. But now that is done, and I wish I could go back in time and stay 'till morning.

*He smiles at her, a little sadly, a little awkwardly, and then drops his gaze to the sand.*
