Madam Lemac? This is but a thought, but, if the old masts are not rotten, perhaps we should use those to repair as much of the hull as possible. The wood should be weathered, just like that which the ship is already made of. That way, as we sail, the repairs are less likely to absorb water and pop, or weather out and leak about the edges. There obviously is not enough to make all the repairs, but at least those under the water line? I can use some of the beached wood and scraps from the new trees for the rafts. I will, of course, leave that decision for the experts.
