The Burial.

Falcon woke with a headache. He found himself lying in the same place he landed. The sun had set, and the moon and stars filled the sky. A cool breeze blew in from the east sending a scent of wild mint to Falcons nose.
Falcon laid there for many moments looking up into the sky trying to remember what happened to him. He remembered grabbing the creatures sword, and the next thing he finds himself looking up into the sky. The pain in his body hurt like nothing he had ever felt. Fist he moved his arms and legs to make sure nothing was broken. When every thing felt fine he sat up and looked around.
The sword he grabbed was on his right a short distance away, and his mount was grazing off to his left. When he looked over to where the two creatures were all that was left were two piles of cloths. He let out a deep bellowing laugh, as soon as he realized how he must look sitting in the road. As he stood he felt all the pain came back to his body, but the seasoned warrior he is he was able to push the pain aside and focus on the task at hand.
Once on his feet he scanned the area, but saw no signs of life with the exception of his mount. He felt for his axe and shield and both were secure in place. Fist he moved over to the two bodies and both were a pile of robes and ash but nothing else remained. One of the black swords was next to the remains of the creature and the other was off the side of the road where he was thrown. Knowing that he couldnt pick up the sword again he whistled, and his mount trotted over to stand next to him. As soon as his mount stopped he grabbed her by the bridle and gave her a kiss on the nose.
It be good to see ya Lady. Me thought I was a goner.
He moved around to his saddlebags and pulled out a pick ax. Falcon turned and walked over to the sword he had picked up and started to dig a hole the length of the sword and two feet deep. After several minutes of digging he was happy with the grave he dug for such an evil weapon.
Now what do I use to move it into the hole? He said to himself, and Lady gave a snort then kicked the ground and walked away. He thought of using his pick as then changed his mind and found a long stick on the side of the road. After pushing the sword with the stick he was able to drop it into its grave. As quick as he could he filled the hole back up then threw a few larger rocks on top so it didnt look like anything was here. Happy with the results he did the same with the other sword and their robes. Satisfied with his work Falcon let out a whistle and Lady came over and gave him a nuzzle with her nose.
Lets be off Lady we need to get back to the Frosty Fortress. Falcon mounted and started home. When he got a few yards away he turned around and looked back to see if he could tell where the items were buried. With a great sigh of relief there was no indication of any thing being buried.
He turned Lady and kicked her into a run back home. After several hours of riding Falcon stopped to look up to the snowy region of the Frosty Kingdom in the distance. He rubbed Ladys neck, Well be home before night fall. He said with a smile.

"A woman, or a man,may come to hold many treasures in life. Gold, gems, a good name, lovers, good friends, influence, high rank-all of these are of value. All of these most covet. But of them all the most valuable, I tell ye, are friends good and true. Have these, and ye will scarce notice the lack if ye never win aught else."
