An unwanted visit

Through out the night he just laid there and thought about what has happened. As the sky changed from a dark to a light blue he got up with out any sleep, yet he felt as if he had slept all night. Knowing that he was going to be leaving in three days he went to his sisters house and gave her the note. It took him a full day of travel to get to his sisters, so he didnt stay long he gave her the note and told her he could only stay one night then he would have to be off at first light. At first she couldnt believe what he was about to do, but she new it was something that must be done.
They said there good buys and Falcon gave each of his nieces and nephews a gold coins. He then told them all he would see then soon, and he mounted on his horse and started home.
Half way home he noticed two people in hooded robes walking towards him on the road, and for some reason Falcon got a bad feeling about these two. He slowed his mount to a walk, and when he got with in a few feet from the travelers they both stepped in front of his path. Falcon pulled up his mount.
Move aside so I can pass. He said with a voice of authority.
The two-cloaked men pulled back their hoods and when they looked at him Falcon noticed that both men had pure red eyes. As soon as both looked up at Falcon he had his Axe in his hand.
What evil are you? he asked. Step aside.
In a low voice one of the men spoke. You will not continue with what you seek. If you do you will pay with your life.
Falcon was confused when he heard what the man said. Then he realized the man was referring to his quest.
And who are you to say what I can and can not do? As he spoke the words Falcon jumped off his mount and he had his axe in one hand and his shield in the other.
As soon as Falcon hit the ground both men opened their robes and pulled out a pure black sword. Falcon started to laugh when they both had their swords in hand.
I take it ya think ya gointa stop me here on the road? Again Falcon started to laugh, but before he stopped his laughing he rushed in with his axe leading the way. Falcon was quicker then either one had expected, Falcon took on hit on his shield but he was able to get in a good hit on the one that was doing all the talking. The hit was minor but he did draw blood across the mans chest.
Ya feel the biteo me axe. If ya dont leave me be ya find ya self in a worldo hurt. Again Falcon rushed in but this time they were both ready. But the one that was talking was expecting Falcons quick reflexes. Falcon took a hit on his shield from the second man and parried the first ones attack then he spun around low and his axe bit deep into the second mans right leg sending him to the ground with a moan.
The talker paid no attention to his fallen companion and pressed into Falcon. With luck Falcon was able to get his shield up in time to take all three blows. Falcon then started to hum a tune to his god Mordin. They both exchanged blow for blow, and Falcon couldnt help but feel the strength and power flow through his body. With ease Falcon deflected several blows and was able to get in two hits, one hit to the mans chest, and one to his right hip. Falcon stopped his humming for a moment.
If ya run now ya may live. Then Falcon started to chuckle.
Falcon notice the man on the ground started to drink something out of a flask, and he knew he couldnt play this cat and mouse game for too much longer. Falcon threw his shield at the man standing before him, and as soon as the man block the shield Falcon drew back his axe and threw it with all his strength. With the look of horror the man had no time to block the attack and took the axe in the center of his chest. When he looked down he felt his sword drop from his hands. He dropped to the ground dead before he hit the ground.
Falcon rushed in and pulled his axe from the dead man, and turned to face his new threat. When he turned around the other man was standing with his sword in hand with them pure red eyes looking straight at him. With only his axe in hand Falcon waited to see what his new opponent would do.
After several second, Falcon smiled and said. Like I said if ya leave now Ill let ya live. If not you will be joinin ya friend over there. Falcon motioned with his head towards the body lying on the road. But this only angered the man and he came in swinging. Falcon was able to parry each attack with ease. Then the smell of rotten meat came to his nose. The distraction was enough for the red-eyed man to get through Falcons defenses. Falcon let out a moan as a sharp pain shot through his side. As he looked down he saw that the tip of the black sword went through his dwarven armor as if it was butter.
In a fit of rage he jumped back knocking the sword out wide. He stood his ground for a moment to get his bearings then he heard what sounded like a laugh from the red-eyed man. With rage in his voice Falcon yelled out, Now ya die! then he charged. He swung left then right then left again, and at the last possible second Falcon spun and kicked the red eyed man in the groin. With out missing a beat the man hit Falcon below his right eye with a fist that sent him back peddling with stars in his eyes.
The man rushed in with his sword coming down. With luck he was able to get his axe up in time to stop the falling sword, but the force of the blow dropped him down on one knee. Using his short size Falcon kicked out with his other leg catching the red-eyed man in the knee. With the force of the kick his knee snapped back, with the sound of snapping bones. The man let out a shriek that sent a chill down Falcons spine. Falcon jumped up and rushed forward, and all the man could do was hop back on his good leg in hopes of getting away.
Falcon started to swing high then at the last moment he spun back the other way bringing his axe low. The tried to block the attack, but he was to slow and Falcon took his other leg off at the knee. Again he let out a shriek as he toppled to the ground. He tried to hold onto his black sword, but when he hit the ground he lost his grip and it slid across the dirt road. He turned and tried to crawl toward his sword, but as he started to reach for it Falcon brought his axe down taking off his arm at the elbow. Once again the man let out a shriek. Falcon then kicked him in the side sending him rolling over away from his sword. When he cam to a stop he was on his back and Falcon was standing over him with his axe raised up for the killing blow. He looked at Falcon with his pure red eyes waiting for the inevitable, but it never came.
Falcon lowered his axe and looked at the creature before him. Why have you tried to kill me? He asked with sympathy in his voice.
He raised his head then in an evil voice he said. You must be stopped.
Falcon looked at him with a confused look. Stop me from what?
He started to laugh as he looked at Falcon then he said. You will not reach the hammer. We will stop you.
For only a moment Falcon let them words sink in, the quicker then the man thought possible he brought his axe down to be berried in the center of his chest. The man coughed up blood twice then he left the land of the living for ever.
Falcon pulled his axe free and started to chuckle. It looks like ya wont be stop in any one now will ya. Still chuckling he cleaned his axe on the dead mans cloak. He then placed it back on his side. Falcon then searched both bodies and found nothing of value, so he walked over to the sword that pierced his armor.
Under his breath he said, This will bring in a good coin or two. As he reached down to pick up the sword he wrapped his fingers around the hilt a shock sent Falcon flying back through the air to land thirty feet back.
With out any movement Falcon laid there under the afternoon sunlight.

"A woman, or a man,may come to hold many treasures in life. Gold, gems, a good name, lovers, good friends, influence, high rank-all of these are of value. All of these most covet. But of them all the most valuable, I tell ye, are friends good and true. Have these, and ye will scarce notice the lack if ye never win aught else."
